BLUE SPACE By nadia olefir
Exhibition “BLUE SPACE” reveals the mystery potential of blue color in art.
The blue we perceive in nature is rarely a pigment but a reflection of light. Water absorbs the longer wavelengths of red and otehr colors, while the shorter wavelength of blue scatters to give the sea its blue apprearance.
The oxygen and nitrogen molecules in our atmosphere scatter blue wavelengths whne sunlight passes through it – presenting us with a blue sky. These everyday illusions account in part for the enduring metaphorical and emotional power of blue and its enigmatic place among the colors, even today.
Blue color gives inspiration and even connects us to the highest states of consciousness. Suffice to say, if you want to bring any of those qualities into your physical surroundings, seek art with the color of blue. You can choose from many different shades of the color found in a variety of styles of art. Varieties of the color blue may differ in hue, chroma (also called saturation, intensity, or colorfulness), or lightness (or value, tone or brightness).
In this “BLUE SPACE” exhibition, artist Nadia Olefir represents her “BLUE” artwork. Nadia also would like to share with you the fascinating benefits of blue color in our life. And quotes about blue influence in art.
