Snooker Japan Open: Runner Up from YC&AC!
Words: Kazuma Miyamoto and Eddie Wu
On November 30th and December 1st, the 24th Annual Snooker Japan Open took place across Tokyo and Kanagawa – one of the four venues was the YC&AC. Among the 25 participants, Atsushi Endo, a YC&AC member since March 2023, took 2nd place in this prestigious tournament!
On behalf of the YC&AC Snooker community, we would like to congratulate Endo-san! His dedication and hard work – practicing at YC&AC almost every day – have truly paid off, and we are thrilled to celebrate his achievement. During the tournament, he also achieved the highest break with an impressive score of 72 consecutive points in a single visit.
Endo-san’s final opponent, Yotharuck Ratchayothin, is a former professional Snooker player from Thailand. Although Endo-san lost 1-3 in the finals, his performance throughout the tournament was exceptional.

Endo-san commented: “Thanks to the excellent environment at YC&AC, I am able to fulfill my practice sessions. I’m very happy to achieve the result of finishing in 2nd place. I’m deeply grateful to the Snooker community and all the Club members who always cheer us on and support us. Before the tournament, the encouraging words like ‘Good luck!’ from the reception staff and members were a huge source of motivation. Thank you very much. I’ll work hard to win the championship next time!”
In the lead up to the Japan Open, Endo-san had some great results in regional tournaments, winning the Kanto Open Tournament at the YC&AC in September. He is currently ranked number 8 in Japan (as of 1st Dec 2024).
