Japan Invitational Senior Tennis 2024
On October 15th, 2024, the members of the Boeing Employees Tennis Center and Jupiter Tennis Center Edgewood made their first stop at YC&AC to play tennis and exchange opinions (courtside chat)on Ikigai during their Japan tour.
After exchanges of greetings and announcements, players pursued in a 4 hour round robin of men’s doubles, women’s doubles, mixed doubles, and team-mixed doubles. There were a number of tight matches and dominant victories by both sides with a full gallery around the courts.
Results: Based on the number of games won, YC&AC took a victory with 104 games to 68 games taken by Boeing.
After fun times of tennis, the Japanese and Americans each had one person present their lifestyles after retirement followed with participants freely exchanging their opinions on Ikigai and the desire to live a life with purpose in retirement. We would like to give a special thank you to our member Hiroshi Miura-san for giving this presentation on behalf of the club’s Japanese participants. Followed by a discussion of wise minds, delicious food was served to recover from the hard-fought battles.
